We’re proud to announce a multi-phase project with the World Food Program USA (WFP) to help improve the nutritional impact of global humanitarian food products and further the Rivalz mission to improve global health outcomes.

WFP, the world's largest humanitarian organization dedicated to fighting hunger and improving food security worldwide, selected Rivalz to apply our extrusion technology and knowledge base to enhance Lipid-based Nutrient Supplements (LNS) and Super Cereal.

Results from phase 1 prove that extrusion helps WFP achieve its key objectives and improve nutrition, process, and quality.

Examples of improvements include:

✅ Rivalz’ extrusion methods improve nutrition (protein bioavailability, acrylamide reduction, etc.), food safety, and quality, with better texture and particle size

✅ Rivalz’ approach offers more cost effectiveness and scalability with low-cost asset base and feasibility with 5 formulations

✅ A more simplified, portable processing with a less capital intensive and globally available single screw outperforms a twin-screw extruder

In addition to being featured at UNICEF's Nutrition Supply Forum 2025, Rivalz is thrilled to continue working with WFP in this next phase, product development, scale up and phase four, diversification and localization. Rivalz is actively building a consortium to further this project.
