Backing the Future of Savory Snacking: The March Group Leads Rivalz Series A

The March Group is proud to be the lead investor in the Series A financing for Rivalz, a functional snack company developing craveable savory snacks designed to improve metabolic health and better-for-you eating habits. The initial close has been completed, and the company is now in the process of raising the remainder of the round.

Rivalz sits at the intersection of two core pillars of TMG's thesis: Precision Nutrition and Food & Medicine. Its high-protein, high-fiber, low-glycemic-index formulations turn snacking into a preventative health tool rather than an indulgence to be managed. That framing matters more now than ever — with GLP-1 use climbing and shoppers paying closer attention to what they eat, consumers are pivoting to snacks that deliver real benefits: protein, fiber, satiety, and metabolic health.

"The future of food is not about simply removing ingredients consumers perceive as unhealthy," said Ralph Jerome, Co-Founder and Chairman of Rivalz and former Chief Innovation Officer at Mars, Inc. "Consumers are becoming far more aware of how food impacts satiety, blood sugar management, and long-term health."

Rivalz is expanding its metabolic health leadership further via collaboration with two of the most prominent microbiome researchers in the world: Dr. Jeffrey Gordon and Dr. Michael Barratt of Washington University in St. Louis, to explore the relationship between nutrition, the gut microbiome, and metabolic health. Dr. Gordon is widely regarded as the pioneer of modern microbiome science and serves as Director of the Center for Genome Sciences & Systems Biology at Washington University School of Medicine.

"Consumers are increasingly seeking foods that support metabolic health and overall wellness without sacrificing convenience or enjoyment," said Dr. Gordon. "Rivalz is approaching these challenges through a combination of nutritional research, product formulation, and broader consumer accessibility in ways that could help reshape the future of savory snacking."

The science is matched by real commercial momentum. In K-12 foodservice, Rivalz has landed Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Los Angeles Unified School District — two of the nation's largest districts — along with 15 more K-12 locations, with products that qualify as USDA Smart Snack-compliant, reimbursable, and approved as meat alternatives. On shelves, the brand now reaches roughly 2,500 retail locations, including Albertsons/Safeway, Giant, Wegmans, and HomeGoods.

Rivalz is raising a total of $5 million in Series A financing to support foodservice, ecommerce, retail expansion, and future product innovation across the savory category. We're proud to back the team and are excited for what lies ahead!
